SANDERSON MUSEUM WALTZES HOME A WINNER

By Chip Lohmann

On July 20th, Rea Redifer’s play “A Last Waltz” was presented by the Kennett Amateur Theatrical Society, Inc. (“KATS”) at Anson B. Nixon Park in Kennett Square.

Attended by board members Sally Denk, Sue Minarchi, Dean Camp and Chip Lohmann and about 100 others, the performance portrayed Chadds Ford residents Chris Sanderson and Leonore Young from the viewpoint of Mr. Redifer, who referred to himself as “The Drifter” within the show.

The “benevolent antagonism” of both lead characters was bought to light by the author. He portrayed both their warts and tender sides with equal thoroughness.

During the week before the performance, the cast visited the Sanderson Museum, where President Sally Denk gave them many insights on the character of Chris.
